Events Coordinator/Youth Worker
Full-time Position
Mental Health is seeking an individual to encourage, inspire and support the personal development of young people through the development and delivery of programs and activities.
Job Description
The Events Coordinator/Youth Worker is responsible for organizing and coordinating events and effective and efficient programs for clients and families of Maskwacis.
Qualifications
- Implement monthly event calendar for the fiscal year of events/programs offered by MCSS designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors in the Maskwacis Nations youth and clients at large.
- To direct youth work in a way that encourages young people to develop their self – awareness, individuality and political growth.
- To be involved in planning and facilitating project activities for young people.
- Promote other activities in the communities which promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Coordinate and implement the programs that have been developed.
- Evaluate the implemented programs with regards to effectiveness.
- Keep statistics on programs i.e. attendance, participation, participant change and submit activity reports as required.
- Ensure all forms and documents are completed and submitted to appropriate departments for review, approval, processing, and retention.
- Maintain files of events/programs/services.
- Facilitate and attend community presentations and liaise with other departments in Maskwacis Health Services to offer joint programs where practicable.
- Contribute to the Maskwacis Health Services initiatives as required.
- Take additional training to meet program requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as required.
Other Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in child and youth Counselling, or a combination of education & experience.
- 2+ years’ experience preferred
Schedule
- 7-hour shift (8:30 am to 4:30 pm)
- Monday to Friday
