Health has an enormous impact on peoples’ lives, and lab results play a key role in providing physicians with information they need to accurately diagnose and treat their patients. Maskwacis Health Services is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in the community of Maskwacis at the main health centre. This individual will be required to follow lab processes and procedures, perform venipuncture, ECGs and Holter monitor on community patients. The successful candidate will work independently and with others in a patient-oriented, team-focused workplace that strives to be positive and respectful. As a health services provider in the Maskwacis community, Maskwacis Health Services prides itself on the delivery of compassionate, efficient and quality lab collection services. This position is a full-time temporary position, from Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30 pm until March 31, 2027. Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will provide high quality services to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG Certification.Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG Certification.
- At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. ECG experience. At least 6 months of experience in a Patient Service Centre.
Schedule
- 7.5-hour shift (8:30 am to 4:30 pm)
- 5 days a week
