Job Description

The Event/Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating events that are effective for clients and families of Maskwacis. To encourage, inspire and support the personal development of clients through the development and delivery of programs and activities.

The Event/Program Coordinator will be under the supervision of the manager, Maskwacis Counselling & Support Services.

 

 Responsibilities

 

  • Implement monthly calendar for the fiscal year of events/programs offered by MCSS designed to reduce risk factors and enheance protective factors in the Maskwacis Nations (Ermineskin & Samson)
  • Attend local events as a spokesperson representing MCSS, programs and information about counselling. Taking swag items surveys and occasional door prizes.
  • Taking care of the social media page @Maskwacis Counselling. Weekly schedules, monthly calendars and responding to comments or messages. Using Facebook Meta Business Suite to schedule posts. Also the Four Nations Facebook pages and mental health pages, sharing content, if it is relevant.
  • To direct events in a way that encourage clients to develop their self awareness and individuality.
  • To be involved in planning and facilitating project activities for MCSS clients.
  • Promote other activities in the community which promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Coordinate and implement the programs that have been developed.
  • Evaluate the implemented program with regards to effectivieness.
  • Keep statistics on programs (i.e attendance, participation, participant age, and submit activity reports as required).
  • Ensure all forms and documents are completed and submitted to appropriate departments for review, approval, (processing and retention)
  • Maintain files of events/programs/services
  • Facilitate and attend community presentations and liaise with other departments in Maskwacis Health Services to offer joint programs where practicable.
  • Contribute to the Maskwacis Health Services initiatives as required.
  • Will be responsible for sharing of MCSS events/program on HAWK radio.
  • Will be responsible for the development of podcasts by working closely with all MCSS Team members on various topics related to mental health.
  • Taking additional training to meet program requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Other duties as required   

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in child and youth counselling, or an equivalent combination of education experience
  • 5 years of experience preferred
